Board of Directors
Bruce Van Stone,
President
Bruce has been involved in a variety of activities over the years. In 1990, he became a Big Brother mentor to a young boy in the Mississauga region. He remained a Big Brother with this program for over eight years. He has also worked in previous years with the Red Cross Society of Canada, the Hospital For Sick Children, Junior Achievement, and the Casey House Hospice.
Bruce is a teacher in Stanley, New Brunswick, where he currently teaches high school English and History. He resides in Fredericton, New Brunswick, with his wife Janet, and their son, Tyler.

Todd Cullen, Chief Operations Officer
Todd has been honoured to work with the Board of Directors of the foundation since its inception. On an individual basis, he has been a personal friend of the Van Stone family for many years. He is a partner in a land development and home building company in the west end of the greater Toronto area.
He has great hope and a strong belief that over the years the foundation, inspired by the memory of Marilyn Van Stone, will work successfully to generate the resources and the awareness required to provide much needed, and valuable support to cancer patients in Ontario and across Canada.

Michael Demeter, Director
Mike was born and raised in Toronto, and has spent the past 10 years working in various locations, both international and within Canada. He career has included work with both private and institutional clients in the areas of asset management, hedge funds, and trust and estate planning.
Mike is an alumnus of the University of Western Ontario, as well as the Rotman School of Management at the University of Toronto. He currently lives in north Toronto with his wife Cathy and one-year old son, Will.
Mike joined the MVSF board in Fall 2005 and looks forward to making a positive contribution to the valuable work performed by the Foundation.

Michael Demeter

Michael Larmour, Director
Mike has been involved with the foundation since 2005. He is a strong believer in the importance of grassroots charitable organizations and the direct
support that they provide to the community. Mike's aim is to help the foundation achieve its long term goals by ensuring the success of each awareness
campaign and event along the way.
Mike was raised in Mississauga, and is currently a GTA resident. He holds degrees in Environmental Science,
and Computer Science, and is employed by Celestica as an IT Manager in their Business Solutions group. Mike enjoys playing music for his avid fanclub
(daughter Kate), and defending his title as the worst golfer in Southern Ontario.

Darryll Lucas, Director
Born in Montreal, but has been living in Toronto for the last 20 years, he has been involved with the foundation for over 4 years. He has worked in the Computer Software Business for the last 15 years and is currently managing the Financial Services and High Tech Sectors for RightNow Technologies in Canada.
Darryll has a strong commitment to the ongoing development of the foundation, ensuring that the goals set out by the board are met and surpassed. He realizes that the foundation brings hope and joy to so many people, all walks of life and all age groups, and it is helping all these individuals in every
possible way.

Ian
Stoppard, Communications & Information Director
Ian has been involved with the foundation since its inception. He
brings with him expertise in information technology and project management,
and has and undergraduate degree from the University of Toronto, and
a Master of Business Administration from McMaster University. After
spending the first part of his career in the financial services sector,
Ian is currently managing the Business Solutions group for a major electronic
publishing firm.
Ian's primary role with the Marilyn Van Stone Foundation has been to manage
the website, as well as the design, production, and delivery of all
communications and marketing materials. Ian's goal for the foundation
is to ensure that two-way communication between the foundation and
its volunteers, sponsors, and donors is as easy and effective as possible
and that powerful communication channels such as the internet are
fully utilized.

Jeff Cullen
, Director
First and Foremost, a father and husband. Two boys aged 6 and 8 and a loving and supportive spouse, are the center of Jeff’s world.
Next, Jeff is CEO / President and shareholder of Bellville Rodair International globally. The BRI Group (comprised of 20 offices in 10 countries) is involved in International Freight Forwarding (the movement of goods by air, ocean, road and rail transport), customs brokerage and third party logistics (warehouse and distribution facility design build and management as well as consulting).
Jeff is an active member within Innovators Alliance, as a member of the executive committee, the board of directors and the chair of the golf fundraising committee. Jeff has been a past board member with Junior Achievement of Peel as well as being a current board member of the Marilyn Van Stone Cancer Care Foundation. Jeff has been active in the local communities around Toronto (Mississauga, Brampton and Oakville) volunteering his time to teaching students about business and the business world.
Jeff is a graduate of the University of Western Ontario and has done graduate work at the UofT Rottman school of business in the EMBA program. Jeff has done some further executive training and development in the fields of leadership and strategy at the Queens School for Business and at York University.
Jeff travels avidly for business and pleasure and has had the luxury of touching almost every corner of the globe.

Dean Colling, Director
Dean is proud to be associated with the Marylin Vanstone Foundation and it's hard working volunteers. He is a Vice President and Investment
Advisor at CIBC Wood Gundy. Dean lives in Toronto, is married and is has twin daughters.

Mathew
C. Froggatt, Director
Mathew is deeply honoured to be a part of the Marilyn Van Stone Foundation. After having cancer strike his own family, the opportunity to make a difference for cancer patients and the community was extremely welcomed. Having been born and raised in Toronto, Mathew presently resides in the GTA. With several years in the financial services industry, Mathew is currently an
Investment Advisor with CIBC Wood Gundy. Coming from an International Business and Marketing background, Matt looks forward to helping the MVSF reach new heights and increase public awareness.

Paul
McGeachy, Director
After participating in some of the foundation’s events in 2003, Paul joined the board in early 2004 and chaired the effort to introduce the first annual “Curl 4 Care” bonspiel later that fall. Paul is a big believer in giving back to the community and credits his volunteer experience while at the University of Western Ontario for developing this approach to life. Prior to joining the foundation, Paul was an event planning volunteer with Horizons for Youth – a Toronto based youth shelter.
Paul lives in Toronto and is currently in a Corporate Marketing role with Nortel Networks. Besides his career and a role with the foundation, Paul stays active year round with his love for the sport of “Ultimate” Frisbee. With a belief that cancer is something that affects all of us, Paul is committed to the difference that the MVSF can make in his own community. With the events and contributions that the foundation has committed to, Paul believes there is room to compliment rather than compete with other cancer related charity organizations.

Chris
Widdup, Volunteer Event Coordinator
Chris has been involved with the foundation since December 2002 and his primary role with the Marilyn Van Stone Foundation has been to co-chair the annual Volleyball tournament. Raised in Mississauga, he currently resides in Oakville with his wife and twin daughters and is employed with RBC as the Manager, Recruitment - Wealth Management. Chris is a strong believer in raising the awareness of MVSF in the community and providing support to individuals and families in their time of need.

Stephen
Crawford, Honorary Director
Stephen was born and raised in Mississauga. He is a graduate from
both the University of Western Ontario and the University of Toronto
majoring in Political Science and Business. After working several
years in management at a major Canadian retailer, Stephen served as
a Financial Advisor at one of Canada's leading investment dealers.
Stephen is currently National Sales Manager at Acuity Funds Ltd. Stephen
resides in Oakville with his wife Nicole.

Lucien
Misiak, Honorary Director
Lucien was raised in Ancaster Ontario and is a full time resident of Toronto. Lucien works as a Financial Consultant for one of the largest full service brokerage firms in Canada and has been affiliated with the industry for over 15 years. Lucien holds degrees in Landscape Architecture and Business Commerce and enjoys squash, skiing, baseball, hockey and music. Lucien has a strong commitment and passion for the Foundation as he lost his own mother to cancer.

G. Scott Paterson, Honorary Chairperson
Mr. Paterson, age 39, has been a private investor and venture capitalist since January 2002. From October 1998 to December 2001, Mr. Paterson served as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Yorkton Securities Inc. (“Yorkton”) where, under his leadership, Yorkton became Canada’s leading technology, biotechnology and film & entertainment underwriter. From May 1997 to October 1998, Mr. Paterson served as President of Yorkton. Mr. Paterson is currently a Director of Lion’s Gate Entertainment Corp., a public company listed on the Toronto Stock Exchange and the American Stock Exchange. He serves on that Company’s Audit, Governance and Strategic Committees.
In the past five years, Mr. Paterson served the Canadian securities industry in multiple capacities. He is the past Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Canadian Venture Exchange Inc. and in 2001 was a Vice-Chairman of the TSX Group Inc., parent company of the Toronto Stock Exchange. In addition, Mr. Paterson has served as a Governor of the Investment Dealers Association of Canada and as a member of the Board of Directors of each of the Canadian Investor Protection Fund and the Canadian Securities Institute.
Mr. Paterson presently serves the community as a Trustee of the Art Gallery of Ontario, a member of the Board of Governors of Ridley College and as the Chairman of the Merry Go Round Childrens’ Foundation.
Mr. Paterson is a graduate of Ridley College and earned a Bachelor of Arts (Economics) degree from the University of Western Ontario.
