Mission Statement
Our dedicated mandate is to raise funds to improve the care and quality of life of cancer patients and their families in Canada. The foundation is named after the late Marilyn Van Stone, whose courageous battle with cancer, inspired her son Bruce to create an organization dedicated to making life better for those who are affected by this terrible disease.
The MVSF raises funds for various cancer organizations, through our fund-raising events that include charity golf events, volleyball events, and curling events. Motivated initially by Marilyn's and her family's experiences with cancer, the foundation now draws on
the many individual connections with this disease to benefit those who are affected by it.

Values
In fulfilling this mission, we make the following commitments:
To the people we serve: We promise you our respect, caring
and concern in all of our interactions. We will exhibit a determination
and passion for creating a quality of life for you and your families
that is worthy of you, and will allow you access to the best possible
cancer services and care programs.
To the communities in which we live and work: We promise to advocate
for needed services and programs and will strive to create strong
collaborative relationships with other community organizations. We
will maintain financial stability and will actively raise funds to
ensure our continued services and reliability.
To each other: We recognize the importance of each of our contributions,
with appreciation and support. We will communicate freely and openly,
and generously share information. We will strive to improve our own
knowledge and skills in regard to cancer care and treatment programs,
so we can make the most effective decisions possible. We will show
a dedication and commitment to the foundation that is inherently necessary
to make it a successful and thriving organization.
To those who support us: We recognize that it is your time,
money and concern for cancer patients, that will ultimately assist
us in achieving our ongoing mission. We endeavour to utilize these
resources wisely and from an informed perspective. Working together,
we can make a difference in the lives of cancer patients in our communities.
