Point of Hope Contacts
"Cancer Disrupts" our lives in many ways, including physically,
mentally, emotionally, and socially. Unfortunately, many of us
have had cancer touch our lives, and have seen the disruption it causes
first hand.
As a foundation, it is our mandate to focus on three specific areas
of cancer care: Funding, Awareness, and Education. By funding,
we mean raising funds for various cancer organizations, through special
event fund raisers and other means. As a proven success in this important
area, we have decided to increase our scope into the areas of cancer
awareness and education.

The "Point of Hope Contacts"
is based on the premise that cancer disrupts our lives, and the MVSF
is determined to fight this disruption by helping to alleviate the
physical, emotional, mental, and social disruptions that cancer inflicts
on all of us. The MVSF firmly believes that the first step in reducing
this disruption is through a collective community effort to ensure
cancer related information is readily available, and that those who
have questions about cancer, have a source to provide them with answers.
Whether it be information provided by medical experts at a MVSF sponsored
workshop on cancer, literature from a MVSF brochure, or a question
and answer section on our web site, we are determined to make this
information as accessible and available to our community, as possible.
This is where our "Point of Hope Contacts" take over. As their
name suggests, they are our contact point or initial source in ensuring
our information is spread to as many members of the community as is
possible. Our "Points of Hope" take what is passive information, and
make it active in the community. They are first given access to a
wealth of cancer related information and knowledge through the MVSF,
and are then asked to transmit this information to people they know,
who will then become new members. Those new members will hopefully
repeat this process, and as our membership grows, our community will
ultimately be much more aware and educated on cancer and its related
issues.
